The Winchester Jaguars are the tennis team and society at the University of Winchester. I joined the society in 2021 as a social member and in 2022 I took on the role of Social Media Officer as part of the Tennis Committee. My aim for this role was to create an identity for the society online to showcase to other students at the university what being a member of the Winchester Jaguars was all about. My goals for this project was to encourage new members to join the society, as well as showcase the achievements, friendships and memories that current members were making.

When I joined the Winchester Jaguars Tennis Society, the @winchyjags Instagram page was already created. I identified that there was a lack of structure and focus to the page and I believed I could use my skills to enhance the identity of the society online to create an element of professionalism and spark interest to viewers. To do this, I developed a brand theme by choosing colours which linked to the team's kit and selected a font to maintain across a range of posts to link them together aesthetically.
In addition to this, I created cover icons for the Instagram story highlights and managed interactions with users on the app through comments and direct messages. The Winchester Jaguars Instagram page became the go-to space for members to check out the latest events that were being held by the society, as well as find out the results of matches and reflect upon photos from social meetups.
TEAM PLAYER PROFILES
As part of my role as Social Media Officer, I wanted the social media platforms to represent both the social and team members. I decided that the best way to do this was to create profiles for the team players to let the society get to know more about them in relation to their interest in tennis. I constructed a selection of questions to ask the players and interviewed them one by one while filming. I then edited these together with graphics and posted them on the Winchester Jaguars' Instagram page with a cover profile photo.

I attended weekly home match BUCS events which the Men's Team were competing in and took photos of matchplay and post-game shots. Here is a collection of my sports photography to view.
